GreenQloud Reflects on 2012 Cloud Successes and Growing Fast in 2013
REFLECTING:

In 2012, GreenQloud saw a lot of changes and growth. We delivered on our promise of providing clean, green, cost effective and easy-to-use Cloud Computing Infrastructure.
We grew our team to nearly double its size. We set a goal to launch our core services publicly, after a rigorous beta phase, and did so very successfully.
We integrated GreenQloud with great services such as Standing Cloud, Cloudways and Xeround. We signed our first major reseller, SURFmarket, which makes GreenQloud available to over 190 Universities and Research Facilities in The Netherlands.
We gave customers the tools they need to manage their resources effectively while monitoring their energy use and carbon emissions savings. All the while, we drove home our message of fostering a more resilient IT future through a cleaner, more robust and sustainable cloud that is equally cost effective and easier-to-use.
We presented on stage at events such as POPtech, Startup Iceland, DEMO, Structure Europe and Up Con. We sponsored hackathons, earned media coverage throughout the world and gained customers in over 62 countries, including right here on our home turf of Iceland.
We ended the year by winning the People’s Choice Award for Iceland from the Nordic Startup Awards. All of this was accomplished through developing a disciplined, lean startup culture.
THE YEAR AHEAD:
In 2013 we expect to continue our path of success and growth with a strength in sales at the small business and enterprise level and a continued focus on educating the global IT market that efficient computing in the cloud can be accomplished in a sustainable, cost effective and easy-to-use manner.
We have 2 major projects underway: a significant new product linked to our existing Storage Qloud offering, which we will unveil in Q1; a new collaborative project with CloudStack where we are developing an API that will enable anyone to monitor their energy statistics and CO2 emissions.
We are also in the midst of prepping for a Series A fundraising initiative that will enable us to have a more significant and positive impact on the IT community.
In February, we’ll continue developing our relationship with the Icelandic IT community by jointly sponsoring a Hackathon with the University of Reykjavik in conjunction with Ský’s UT Messan conference.
On the global view, we’ll participate in SXSW Interactive in Austin, Texas as an exhibitor and present at CeBIT for Code_N in Germany in March.
We will continue to expand our team and our sales channels while simultaneously strengthening our core services to enable you to run, host and store data on our Truly Green™ cloud infrastructure.
Looking forward!

I am a great Fan and wish GreenQloud all the best for 2013!
